Retail Sector: Digital technology and social media key to reaching customers

According to a recent survey of 100 senior retail business leaders, digital technology and social media is helping 79 per cent of retailers overcome ‘business challenges’. 

40 per cent of those surveyed felt that digital technology was was key to gaining access to potential new customers. And, despite startups and small businesses feeling that digital technology can present barriers in terms of cost and security risks, 30 per cent of respondents indicated that investment in technology was an essential part of developing new online sales.
