Response from Government: Support for businesses through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme

On 26 March, we wrote to Government asking for further clarity regarding the support measures available to businesses through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. A copy of our letter can be found here.

Jay Sajeev, Head of the Ministerial and Parliamentary Support Team for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), has now provided a response.

Peter Drown, Beavis Morgan LLP Senior Partner, comments: “While this is indeed a fairly generic response from Government, the schemes are constantly being updated and improved, as more feedback from individuals and the business community is taken into account. We are therefore grateful for the response, and will continue in our efforts to support individuals and businesses through this unprecedented time by providing clarity, advice and assistance as we navigate this pandemic together.”
