Recruitment door still open as businesses look to hire

Despite all the doom and gloom in the press following the Brexit vote, businesses are in fact optimistic about their prospects. According to a Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) survey, UK employers are not just looking to maintain existing numbers of staff, but a quarter are looking to increase the number of permanent staff over the course of the next three months. Commenting on the findings, Kevin Green, chief executive of the REC, said: "SMEs are the lifeblood of our economy and it's encouraging to see that hiring intentions remain strong within this group, suggesting they have taken the referendum result in their stride."
