One month to go before GDPR

Last week marked the one month countdown to the introduction of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

The new laws will come into place on the 25 May and will radically change how companies are required to process personal data, such as customer lists and employee records. GDPR applies to all business in the EU that collect, store and process this data. It will be the largest shakeup of data protection laws in the country for decades and could result in fines for businesses found to not be compliant.

Industry heads are appealing to the Information Commissioner’s Office, which is regulating the new law in the UK, to adopt a light touch approach, particularly in the first few weeks and months as the regulations are rolled out.

Make sure your business is fully compliant before the 25 May.
