Congratulations to our 2018 London Marathon runners

Congratulations to our London Marathon runners, Amber Walker, James Strudwick and Jeremy Rogers, who successfully completed the 26-mile challenge surrounded by many colourful and interesting characters, including a ‘running waiter’, a Stormtrooper, a pencil, a Paddington Bear and a rhinoceros.

In what proved to be the hottest London Marathon on record, with temperatures in the capital reaching a searing 23.2C, 40,000 runners took to the course which starts in Blackheath and goes past some of London’s most iconic landmarks including Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, Nelson’s Column, the Shard and the London Eye to name a few, and finishes at Buckingham Palace.

Amber, a member of our partner business BM Advisory, completed the race in 5hrs and 51 mins, raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust, which provides support and expert treatment to thousands of young people each year, so they don’t have to face cancer alone.

James, at Beavis Morgan, finished in 4hrs 2mins, raising money for Heads Together, a mental health initiative spearheaded by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. The charity combines a campaign to tackle stigma and change the conversation on mental health with fundraising for a series of innovative new mental health services.

And Jeremy, our seasoned marathoner, smashed the course in an astonishing 2 hrs 55! That’s worth a winner’s medal in our books!

Well done to all the runners on the day, especially to Amber, James and Jeremy.
