Warning issued about phishing emails from HMRC

A warning has been issued about phishing emails or texts claiming to be from HMRC. This comes ahead of the deadline, which is 31 July, to make advance payments towards self-assessment bills. The spoof emails and texts promises tax refunds. A spokesperson for  HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) said: "HMRC will never notify you of a tax rebate, offer you repayment, or ask you to disclose personal or financial details by email or by text.”

If you have any concerns or queries or would like one of our experts at Beavis Morgan to check any demand for payment from HMRC, please contact Alan Ford or Jo Holland.
