Steven Tiley secures his tour card on the European Tour 2017

Congratulations to Beavis Morgan sponsored Steven Tiley on gaining his 2017 European Tour playing rights after completing the European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage, posting 13 pars, 5 birdies and no dropped shots in his final round.

The Canterbury born English professional golfer attended Georgia State University, before turning professional in 2008. He has played in Asia and Europe, and first hit the headlines after shooting a round of 66 on the opening day of The 139th Open Championship, only to be overshadowed by Rory McIlroy, who went three shots lower.

Steven has won three times on the third tier Jamega Pro Golf Tour in the UK, and also won the Egyptian Open in 2009, a year before the event joined the Challenge Tour schedule. He saw off a field which included Europe’s 2010 Ryder Cup Captain Colin Montgomerie at the JW Marriott Mirage City Golf Club in the Egyptian capital Cairo, where the windy conditions and links-style layout were similar to his home club, Royal Cinque Ports, in Deal, Kent.

Commenting on his impressive performance in Qualifying School on 17 November at PGA Catalunya Resort in Girona, Spain, Beavis Morgan Client Partner, Peter Drown, says: “Well done to Steven on completing one of the hardest tests in golf. He absolutely deserves this success and everybody at Beavis Morgan wishes him the very best of luck on the European Tour. We are exceptionally proud to sponsor him and excited about the forthcoming season.”
