Rio Olympic Games present opportunities for UK SMEs

With just a few days to go before the official opening ceremony of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, UK SMEs say they are planning to focus on international sales, with UK exporters using the sporting event to create opportunities for trade of international products and services.

The research, conducted my OnePoll on behalf of Barclays, interviewed 500 UK SME owners earlier this year. Of those interviewed, 53 per cent of male-owned SMEs said they were likely to use the events to boost sales, while 41 per cent of female-owned SMEs said they would take advantage of the events to export.
