Prime Minister, Theresa May, has written a hand delivered note to the Chinese president, Xi Jinxing, and the country’s premier, Li Keqiang, setting out Britain's commitment to strengthening co-operation with China on global issues and on trade and business. In a statement from Whitehall, they said that the private letter, aimed at reassuring China of Britain's commitment to Anglo-Chinese relations, is part of the process of reshaping Britain as a more outward-looking country, in the wake of the vote to leave the European Union.
