Popularity of craft beer sees increase in UK breweries

Craft beer in the UK remains popular, with new figures showing an 8 per cent rise the number of UK breweries in the past 12 months and a 65 per cent rise in the last five years.

Breweries are increasingly being seen as profitable businesses and attractive acquisition targets. The view is that the weakening of the pound as a result of the Brexit vote should continue to benefit the craft beer industry, as the locally produced artisan products hope to remain unaffected by any increases to import charges.
