With the Euro 2016 kicking off in France later this week and lasting until 10 July 2016, many SMEs are wondering how they are going to keep staff focused on business priorities. Not so, however, for the hospitality sector which looks to benefit significantly from the football tournament.
According to Carlsberg, the Euro 2016 could be worth an extra £60 million to UK pubs and bars this year and, with England, Wales and Northern Ireland having all qualified, there are more matches this year for licensees to capitalise on. Research from Carlsberg even suggests that by broadcasting the events live, pubs are likely to see a 60% uplift in sales.
We wish all our clients in the hospitality sector a successful Euro 2016. And for those SMEs who are concerned about staff productivity, the Forum of Private Business has provided some useful tips to help you encourage employees to enjoy the celebrations without disrupting your business.
