Forbes has released its inaugural Crypto Rich List**, ranking the 20 wealthiest people holding cryptocurrencies.
With nearly 1,500 different cryptocurrencies to choose from, valued at an aggregate of $550 billion, up 31 times since the start of 2017, Randall Lane, Chief Content Officer, Forbes Media, says the report “provides a snapshot of a pivotal moment, part of the transparency needed to pull crypto away from its provenance as an unknown currency.”
Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen tops the Forbes Crypto Rich List with $7.5 billion – $8 billion, Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum and founder at Consensys, comes second with $1 billion – $5 billion, while Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, who invested their Facebook pay-out into Winklevoss Capital, are joint fourth with $900 million – $1.1 billion each.
According to the findings, the average age of individuals featured in the Crypto Rich List is 42, whilst the average age on the Forbes 400 Richest Americans list is 67.
Separately, the Telegraph has published a calculator* to show if you would have made a profit or a loss on your cryptocurrency investments over a user-definable period of time.
