HM Treasury has today announced that the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Chancellor Jeremy Hunt have taken the decision to delay the medium-term fiscal plan, originally set for Monday 31 October, to Thursday 17 November. At the same time, they will deliver an OBR (Office for Budget Responsibility) forecast.
According to the statement, the announcement “will contain the UK’s medium term fiscal plan to put public spending on a sustainable footing, get debt falling and restore stability”.
