Could Brexit be good for London business?

Despite investment and fundraising concerns around Brexit, 58 per cent of London’s small businesses have seen an increase in revenue since the EU referendum in June 2016.

According to a Citibase survey of over 1,000 UK firms, there has been a significant uplift in London business revenue since a year ago, when just 21 per cent of smaller businesses reported an increase.

However, 70 per cent of small London businesses are delaying investment decisions due to uncertainty around the UK’s future relationship with the EU, and 61 per cent have said they are finding it difficult to raise finance.

Many small firms will often seek funding from their banks, as this is who they’ve always dealt with. However, the more traditional debt options won’t necessarily suit everyone.

With demand for alternative finance likely to increase as we move further into 2018, SME’s should choose a specialist adviser who can recommend the right financial products for their specific business needs.

Our partner business, BM Structured Finance, specialises in sourcing and restructuring debt finance for SME businesses. We match the most suitable products to each individual circumstance and work together to ensure compatibility and satisfaction, thereby enhancing the business’ cash flow liquidity and facilitating maximum growth.
