Biggest regrets of small business owners on startup

A survey by the Association of Accounting Technicians* (AAT) has revealed that the biggest regrets SME owners have, when reflecting on their startup experiences, are having not spent enough on finances and marketing.

20 percent of SME owners surveyed found not having enough finance knowledge was the biggest struggle when they first started out. 19 per cent said they should have spent more on marketing their businesses at launch to generate more leads, with 11 per cent feeling they should have spent more on finance. 65 per cent admit to having struggled with at least one key business area at startup, wishing they had sought more professional business advice up front.
