Andy began his career in banking in 1986 with Midland Bank (now HSBC) in the West Country and then relocated to London in 1990 to undertake corporate advisory and restructuring with a top-twenty firm of accountants. He qualified as an accountant in 1997 and obtained the JIEB qualification in 1998.
In 1993, Andy joined a boutique restructuring practice in London and participated in the growth of the business until 2001, when the firm was acquired by an AIM-listed consolidator. After a further 10 years with a top-ten firm based in London and Brighton, Andy decided to establish his own practice, BM Advisory LLP in March 2011.
Andy has gained wide-ranging advisory and commercial experience over the past 22 years, which included a secondment to Bank of Scotland in 2003-04 as a risk director managing a portfolio of restructuring and turnaround projects. Andy has extensive expertise in a wide range of industries with recent focus on retail, manufacturing, media, professional practices and the licensed trade. Over the past 10 years he has also acted in an advisory capacity for members of the Asset Based Finance Association and the Turnaround Management Association.
