Services

As City accountants we provide the broad range of services that you would expect. Our work is always tailored to you and your business. Please see below for a selection of the services we provide.

Accountancy

As professional accountants you expect us to understand accounting systems and be able to fully maintain accounting records; and of course this is an important core skill as well as the ability to draw together this information in a meaningful way to prepare accounts and other management information.

However, our aim in doing this is always to look at ways to increase your wealth and maximise your profitability. We therefore make sure that our accountancy produces clear and reliable information, which can be used by clients to assess their performance month on month and year on year.

We also like to assist you in preparing forecasts and maintaining budgets as these forward-looking tools are of considerable use for profit and growth improvement processes.

We understand all the technical issues that go with accountancy, but we will not bore you with this unless you show an interest. We have experts in IFRS, and UK GAAP, including the FRSSE. We understand company accounts, and also every other business structure, such as, LLPs, partnerships, LPs and sole traders. We have experts in AIM and Plus market compliance, as well as Charity and Pension scheme accounts specialists.

Our solution is simple. We ensure that we fully understand you, your business and your systems and then find the simplest and most efficient way to prepare the accounts that you want and require (not always the same thing). This works in the same way whether your business is large or small.

Areas where we are able to help include:

accounts for tax return preparation

bookkeeping

forecast and budget preparation

management accounts

outsourcing – accounts  and VAT returns

outsourcing – payroll

statutory financial statements

Audit

To successfully meet all of your audit needs, we pay particular attention to careful planning. This ensures a smooth and efficient process that minimises inconvenience to your business and provides best value for money.

We will agree a convenient timetable of work with you in advance to minimise the disruption to you and your team during the audit.

We will also work with you to gather all the information required for our audit in advance of the work being carried out so that we minimise unexpected issues and complete our work to the agreed timetable.

We will make sure we have all the key information about your systems before we design audit tests. This reduces the likelihood of our tests throwing up meaningless extrapolated errors and ensures that our management letter points are always constructive and provide real value.

We create further efficiencies through the use of our paperless audit tools, and our systems also allow the manager and partner to review work completed whilst our team is still on-site.

Importantly, we also aim to provide a human face to our services. Our team will be in contact with you throughout the year, ensuring that you always know well in advance who is visiting you and when, and be available whenever required.

Our audit service quality is maintained and driven by our Audit partners, who are fundamental to our service delivery to clients.

We work to understand your business, and identify the key risks.
